COURT REPORTING

Voice Writing, RapidWriting

A Voice Writer records live testimony and simultaneously repeats verbatim into a hand-held mask known as a stenomask.  As the court reporter repeats testimony, the silencer prevents the reporter from being heard by others. Gestures, emotional reactions, exhibit markings, anything noteworthy is typed into the annotation (notes) field which links to the audio.

A RapidWriter records testimony and adds annotations (notes) into the recording software. The annotations (notes) are linked with the audio at the point of the entry. RapidWriters record and enter short briefs representative of what is being spoken by judges, witnesses, attorneys, and other parties to a proceeding, including gestures and emotional reactions.
