RAPIDVOICE XTREME REAL TIME

Cutting-edge technology, in the form of speech recognition, CAT systems, affords the voicewriter the opportunity to have the spoken words instantly turned into text on a laptop computer or computer work station. As a result, the voicewriter is now able to produce real time text feeds within the courtroom.  It takes six months or longer to reach an acceptable working speed.

A digital real-time court reporter speaks directly into a hand-held mask containing a microphone with a voice silencer. As the digital court reporter repeats the testimony, the silencer prevents the digital court reporter from being heard during testimony. A digital real time court reporter records everything that is said by judges, witnesses, attorneys, and other parties to a proceeding, including gestures and emotional reactions.

THEORY

Real time contains many voice briefs which are referred to as shortcuts that are used to format or expand text. Based upon the developer’s 45 years of reporting experience, included is the most useful ones. Conflicts are easily added into RapidVoice Xtreme. For purposes of realtime writing, concepts are the foundation for this theory. Realtime offers student optional methods of writing allowing them to utilize the method of writing that is easiest for them to remember. Not all students use the exact same brief.

Students are educated for interesting and challenging positions of responsibility and trust as official and/or freelance reporters. Students create templates, how to administer an oath, marking exhibits, stipulations, formatting questions and answers, colloquy, and parentheticals. Students must complete all requirements for all classes, as well as all graduation requirements required and approved by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education.
